The long-awaited day has arrived: The first trailer for (Nerd)² is online! This is our first attempt, and the early feedback is that the trailer takes several minutes (typically 5 or less) to download. Don't despair and give up! Instead, take a break for a Swiss cake roll and then enjoy the first look at the greatest movie we've ever made!

It's been some time

Hi there, friends!

I know it's been a long time. It's inexcusable that I've neglected this blog. The editing is still happening. Sarah and Catherine are determined to get the whole movie done some time this year. I know it seems like a long time, but editing is a long process and Sarah and Catherine can't work on it full time. But I can say that I've seen an early edit of and I've been impressed with everyone's hard work, mad talent, and good sense of humor.

I'll see if I can't work out a way to put a sneak peek of the movie online in the next few weeks. Hang tight, folks! It's a slow process, but the movie will be completed! Thanks for your hard work and patience.

Post-production continues. The editors are hard at work rifling through the video footage, adding music and sound, etc. Thanks again for everyone's hard work.

It's official: Filming is all done. Monday Camille did some voiceover work in the studio and now the editing process begins. Catherine and Sarah want to thank everyone who made the experience so enjoyable and memorable. You know who you are. Stay posted for post-production updates. You're all the popest!

Wrap Party!

That's a wrap! We finished filming in Cedar City today. We are extremely pleased with all of the work that everyone has put in these past few weeks. To celebrate our success in Cedar City we are holding a pizza party for anyone who helped with the film.

Hey all you nerds!

Only one week until filming begins! Things are falling into place with great speed and a lot of stress, but things are looking fantastic!

Filming will begin Monday morning at Cedar High School. Anyone who would like to be an extra is encouraged to come to the west entrance to the 9th grade center (on 860 West) at 9 a.m. Monday morning. Before you will be allowed on set you will need to sign an actor release form, as well as a parental consent form for those under 18 years of age. For more information or for copies of the forms, email me at nerdsquared@gmail.com.

Thanks to everyone who has helped out so much. The word I've received from early rehearsals is that choreographers Dena and Jessica Terry have collaborated with the CHS cheerleaders for a killer segment of the movie, and a dune buggy has been procured for filming, and some incriminating Camille T-shirts are in circulation!

I'll try to post still photos from the set each day of filming as soon as it begins. Keep checking back for more updates, and long live Scoots!

I have sent out information for extras, but we can always use lots more! If you or your friends would like to be an extra, email me at nerdsquared@gmail.com and I'll send you the necessary paper work and information.

Also, (Nerd)^2's cinematographer/technical wizard has requested a few extra hands with the technical side of things. If you'd like to help out behind the camera, email me and we'll get you all set up. You can help even if you're only available one day out of the fortnight between June 27 and July 8.

Audition Update

Thanks to everyone who helped make the Cedar City auditions a success! Sarah and Catherine said they were pleased with the quality of auditioners and the enthusiasm so many of them brought to the project. They expressed regret that they don't have more roles for those who auditioned so well but don't fit any parts. They are reviewing all the audition videos and questionnaires and should be making their final phone calls on Monday.

Audition forms

Every actor or extra in the film will need to fill out an actor release form and questionnaire. Also, those actors and extras who will be younger than 18 as of June 27, 2005 will need to fill out a parental consent form. These forms will be available at the audition on Friday, but we would be happy to email them to you if you'd like to show up with them already filled out. Once again, the email is nerdsquared@gmail.com.

Also, we will be having a few auditions on Saturday morning for people who absolutely can't fit the Friday evening one into their schedules. Come to ConfiDance at 10 am on Saturday, May 21st if you are one of these busy people.

AUDITIONS

Come audition for (Nerd)^2!
When: Friday, May 20
Time: 4-8 p.m., on a first-come, first-auditioned basis
Where: Confidance Studio, 1055 South Cedar Knolls, Cedar City
Who: Males and females to play high schoolers, teachers, and a smattering of other adult roles.
Why: Why not? This is your shot at stardom, or at least a chance to be part of something really fun.
What to bring: Bring a recent photo (need not be a headshot), and there will be audition forms to fill out, including parental permission if you're under 18. Prepared audition not required. Wear whatever clothes you like.
Should I come if I only want to be an extra? Of course! We'll need lots of willing extras.
Additional information: We hope to have the audition forms available here soon for you to print out and bring to the audition. If you want to audition but won't be available for auditions on May 20, or if you just have any questions, email us at nerdsquared@gmail.com.

Hey (Nerd)^2 fans!
The long-awaited day has come at last! Filming will officially begin at CHS on June 27, 2005! Filming there is scheduled to end July 6, although it might go to July 8 if there are delays. Tell everyone you know and get prepared to boogie!
If you would like to audition for a small role right now, drop us an email at nerdsquared@gmail.com. We still have roles unfilled and we want to find the right people. Don't be afraid; we're nice. Everyone who wants to be in the film can be, regardless of age, gender, or body odor.

Three cheers to Homey C (Camille) for getting this started. Keep checking here for updates on (Nerd)^2. In the very near future, we hope to have official filming dates at Wilson (Cedar) High and SLC in June and July.
Also coming soon:

4. Cast updates.

The aforementioned updates may take a few weeks to implement. Sarah still has two jobs and Catherine still has to finish her semester, so they can only direct Thursday and Friday evenings. "But isn't my candor refreshing?"
